GeriJoy's CEO, Victor Wang, talking about GeriJoy at the TEDMED conference. TEDMED is a multi-disciplinary community of innovators and leaders who share a common determination to create a better future in health and medicine. TEDMED operates under license from the non-profit TED conference. This talk includes the why and how behind GeriJoy, with excerpts from a couple of the other videos on this page.
This video was filmed and sent to us by a customer, and depicts how GeriJoy can help bring laughter and (happy) tears to families. It even provides peace of mind for paid caregivers, as we see from the caregiver at the end of the video. Note that the Companion's name is Pony, and Pony's voice has been selected to be better for Jim, though it may not sound as pleasant to someone with ordinary hearing.
This split-screen video was condensed from unscripted raw footage. It shows a dementia care resident at a nursing home interacting with a GeriJoy companion called "Buddy." This resident kept Buddy on his nightstand day and night, and described talking with Buddy as like "a father to a son." He later recovered and went home (results may vary).
Here's another video of a dementia care resident at a nursing home, meeting the GeriJoy Companion for the first time.
